Three people will appear at West Kowloon Magistrates Courts on Friday, charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs.
The charges come after customs officers on Wednesday seized about 21 kilos of suspected cannabis buds at Hong Kong International Airport.
Officers said they found about four kilos in the suitcase of a 42-year-old man, who had arrived from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia via Singapore. Officers also found two grammes of suspected methamphetamine and several tablets of suspected nimetazepam on the suspect.
In a follow-up investigation, a 33-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man were also arrested at the airport. About 17 kilos of suspected cannabis buds were found in the woman's suitcase.
Customs put the street value of the seized drugs at HK$4.2 million.
