The MTR Corporation says it will enhance services across multiple rail lines beginning this Friday and throughout the Chinese New Year period to accommodate increased holiday travel.

The enhancements, which include adding more than 600 extra train trips, are designed to support festive activities, including overnight services on Chinese New Year’s Eve and increased evening frequencies on the first two days of the holiday, helping passengers attend the night parade and fireworks over Victoria Harbour.

On Chinese New Year’s Eve, February 16, all local rail lines - except the Airport Express and Disneyland Resort Line - will adopt evening peak frequencies from 3pm to assist passengers travelling for reunions and celebrations.

Overnight services, the rail giant added, will also be provided that night across all local railway lines and seven Light Rail routes.

Between this Friday and February 23, services on the East Rail Line and Island Line will be strengthened at various times.

Additionally, the Tuen Ma Line will increase evening trips on February 17 to accommodate those attending the night parade.

For visitors heading to Disneyland, the Disneyland Resort Line will run enhanced morning services from February 17 to 23.

The High Speed Rail will also increase service between Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and Futian Station, along with additional sleeper train trips to and from Beijingxi Station.
