The MTR Corporation suspended services on its Island Line between Sheung Wan and Quarry Bay stations on Wednesday morning, saying an "object" was obstructing the track area near Wan Chai Station.

Trains were still running between Kennedy Town and Sheung Wan stations, at reduced intervals of 10 minutes between trains.

Services between Quarry Bay and Chai Wan were also running at 10-minute intervals.

The railway has urged commuters to consider using other transport, and has started up a free MTR shuttle bus service between Sheung Wan and Quarry Bay stations.
