Five people were injured after a wild boar wreaked havoc in Wu Kai Sha for a few hours on Friday before it was subdued.
The police were notified at around 5pm after the animal was spotted inside the MTR station there, as well as a nearby shopping mall and a car park.
Online video showed the boar roaming the neighbourhood as residents sought to protect themselves.
Police and staff from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department arrived in the area and began searching for the animal.
Officers shot the boar with a tranquilizer gun at around 8pm.
Those injured were taken to hospital for treatment for leg wounds.
One of them, a 68-year-old woman, appeared to have a bite mark on her leg.
