Chief Executive John Lee said on Tuesday he looked forward to “constructive suggestions and proposals” on ways Hong Kong could serve the nation’s development during the upcoming “Two Sessions” meetings in Beijing, as he arrived in the capital.
Upon landing in the morning, he was greeted by officials from the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office.
Writing on social media, Lee expressed the hope for National People’s Congress and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference delegates to offer their thoughts on promoting the city’s integration with and contribution to national development efforts as well as the high-quality development of the country and the SAR.
“This year marks the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan,” he said.
“I look forward to each and every delegate actively putting forward constructive suggestions and proposals from different fields and perspectives during the ‘Two Sessions'.”
Lee will attend the opening of the National People’s Congress on Thursday.
