The government is pressing ahead with planned outreach visits to other parts of the world amid global uncertainties, the labour and welfare chief said on Wednesday, not ruling out the possibility of another trip to the Middle East.

Secretary for Labour and Welfare Chris Sun said the ongoing conflict in the Gulf region has bolstered the SAR's appeal to high-calibre professionals.

"Our secure environment and very stable development opportunities make us a more attractive place for talent from all around the world, including those from the Middle East, to make use of Hong Kong to develop," Sun said.

"We are going to push ahead with our planned scheduled visits across the world... We will look for a suitable occasion or opportunity to make another visit to the Middle East if at all possible."

The minister also pledged to continue promoting Hong Kong to the rest of the world and improve the city's different admission schemes, as the latest national five-year plan outlines the country's backing for the SAR to build an international hub for high-calibre professionals.
