Four people injured in a fire at a Tai Po recycling plant on Thursday remain critically hurt.
Another person is in stable condition.
The firefighter who fell ill during the rescue operation and an injured staff member have been discharged from hospital.
According to the Fire Services Department, the blaze started at a scrap metal compactor.
Officials said the suspected cause was the unsafe handling of small aerosol canisters intended for recycling.
Excessive gas cylinders were reportedly found at the scene.
The department says an investigation is underway.
