Services on the East Rail line are gradually resuming on Friday evening, the MTR said, after they were suspended between Mong Kok East and Tai Wai stations following an intrusion onto the track area late in the afternoon.
"The incident on the East Rail Line between Kowloon Tong and Tai Wai Station has been handled. Full line service is gradually resuming on the East Rail Line," the MTR said on its website.
Police said they received a report at about 4.49pm of a man suspected of entering the track area.
Officers said they were able to locate the man who suffered electric shock injuries on the track area.
The man was responsive when officers found him and he has been taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment, police added.
The railway operator had said that their preliminary findings indicated that someone had opened the rear emergency exit ramp of a train that was travelling from Kowloon Tong to Tai Wai.
Police and firefighters are on the scene handling the situation.
Separately, the Transport Department said that all Sha Tin-bound lanes of the Lion Rock Tunnel have reopened after they were closed in the evening due to a traffic accident.
