Hong Kong stocks soared more than three percent on Wednesday, in line with a rally across Asia and Europe, after the United States and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire that will see the crucial Strait of Hormuz reopened.
The Hang Seng Index finished 3.1 percent higher at 25,893 on hopes for peace in the Middle East after more than a month of war that has battered world markets.
Meanwhile, the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 2.61 percent to finish at 8,677 points, while the Hang Seng Tech Index jumped 5.22 percent to end the day at 4,923.
The positive vibe was felt on the mainland as the Shanghai Composite added 2.5 percent to finish at 3,988. (Agencies)
