Police on Friday said they arrested a man who was suspected of robbing a bank in Wan Chai and stealing more than HK$30,000.
The force said they were notified of the case, which occurred at a Bank of East Asia branch on 56 Gloucester Road, at around 12.30pm.
Police were able to locate and arrest the man in Chai Wan later.
The force said they suspect the man – who is in police custody – had fled towards Fenwick Street via a bicycle following the incident.
The bank said that over HK$30,000 was stolen, and staff were still calculating the exact amount.
