Two people were killed in late-night accidents on the Tsing Ma Bridge and in Ngau Tau on Friday.
In the first accident, an 82-year-old woman died following a traffic accident on the bridge that saw a lorry plough into a car, which was stationary.
Police first received reports of the crash on the Tung Chung-bound section of the Lantau Link around 10pm on Friday.
The driver and two passengers were conscious when they were sent to Princess Margaret Hospital.
The 82-year-old third passenger was unconscious while being taken to Yan Chai Hospital after sustaining head and hand injuries. She was declared dead at 11.15pm.
The 35-year-old driver of the lorry was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is currently detained.
The second fatality involved a motorcyclist, who had rammed into a kerb in Ngau Tau Kok.
The police, who received reports of the incident at around 10.15pm on Friday, said a 32-year-old man lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a kerb while travelling on a flyover of Wai Yip Street towards Kowloon Bay.
Thrown onto the opposite carriageway, he was taken to United Christian Hospital in an unconscious state after sustaining head injuries.
He was certified dead at 11.30pm.
Investigations are underway into the accidents and officers are calling for witnesses to come forward.
