Three people were killed and 25 others injured in an explosion at a fireworks plant in Hunan province.

Two of those injured were in serious condition, according to Xinhua News Agency.

The explosion occurred on Monday afternoon at the plant in Liuyang, a county-level city under Changsha.

Local emergency and fire rescue forces were at the scene to carry out rescue operations.
