Hong Kong's flagship carrier, Cathay Pacific, on Wednesday said Guy Bradley would take over as chairman starting immediately.

He succeeds Patrick Healy who retires after more than three decades of service to the Swire Group.

Bradley, who's also the chairman of Swire Pacific, Cathay's parent company, expands his leadership portfolio to cover Swire Coca-Cola, the bottling operations of the conglomerate, also effective on Wednesday.

In addition, Bradley remains as chairman of John Swire & Sons as well as Swire Properties, according to a statement filed to Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing.

Healy, meanwhile, steps down as executive director of Swire Pacific, chairman of both Cathay Pacific and Swire Coca-Cola, and director of John Swire & Sons from Wednesday.

He will not stand for re-election.

The changes take effect upon the conclusion of the company's annual general meeting of shareholders on Wednesday.

Healy was appointed as Cathay's chairman in November 2019, after joining the Swire Group in 1988.

He held various positions across the conglomerate in Hong Kong, the mainland, and Germany.

"The Board would like to express its sincere gratitude to Mr Healy for his dedicated service and valuable contributions to the company and offers its best wishes to him," according to a company statement.

Bradley, 60, who has served as a director of Cathay since 2021, previously joined the Swire Group in 1987 and has worked with the conglomerate in Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea, Japan, the US, Vietnam, the mainland, and the Middle East.

As a chartered surveyor, Bradley also serves as a member of the Chief Executive's Council of Advisers and the Hong Kong-Europe Business Council, among other roles.

Separately, Cathay's non-executive directors Sun Yuquan and Wang Mingyuan will also step down and be succeeded by Martin Murray and Qu Guangji, according to the statement.
