A traffic accident in Ngau Tau Kok on Wednesday afternoon left one person dead and four others injured, after a taxi mounted the pavement and crashed into a flower planter.
Police said the incident happened close to 2pm, when the driver of a taxi travelling along Choi Ha Road lost control of the vehicle which veered onto the pavement and slammed into a planter before coming to a stop.
The front of the taxi was severely damaged.
According to officers, the taxi struck two female pedestrians.
Both were taken to hospital, where one of them later died despite resuscitation efforts.
The taxi driver, along with a male and a female passenger inside the vehicle, also reported feeling unwell and were sent to hospital for treatment.
