President Xi Jinping told a delegation of US business executives that China would "open wider" to the world during China-US talks in Beijing on Thursday.

Xi said that American companies have been deeply involved in China's reform and opening up, and both sides have benefited from this.

"China's doors to the outside world will open wider and wider... American companies will enjoy even brighter prospects in China," Xi said as he met with entrepreneurs accompanying US President Donald Trump on his visit to China.

The US entrepreneurs said that they attach great importance to the Chinese market, and hope to deepen their business operations in China and strengthen cooperation with China.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Tesla boss Elon Musk and Apple CEO Tim Cook were among the business leaders who travelled to China with Trump.

The reaction of the US industry titans to meetings held on the sidelines of the summit between Xi and Trump was positive.

When asked how the meetings went, Cook gave a thumbs-up.

Huang, who only joined Trump's delegation to Beijing at the last minute, said "the meetings went excellent".

Musk said he wanted to accomplish "many good things" in China. (Xinhua & agencies)
