Hong Kong Customs said they seized about 81 kilogrammes of suspected cannabis buds at the airport worth around HK$14.5 million, and arrested a local male passenger.
The suspect, who travelled from Thailand, was stopped by officers during a baggage check.
Customs inspector Teresa Chan said they discovered the drugs in the suspect's luggage after an X-ray scan.
"We found [the] suspected cannabis buds inside the clothes," she said.
Senior investigator of Drug Investigation Division 1, Chan Kit-lun said the department has adopted new risk-assessment methods and advanced technology to detect suspicious consignments.
Chan said they have not ruled out further arrests connected to the seizure.
