Chief Executive John Lee says his administration has pushed forward a series of reforms over the past four years, successfully transforming the government into a results-oriented one.
In a video posted on his social media page on Saturday, he recalled some of the achievements made during his current term of government, including shortening the waiting time for public housing flats, alleviating poverty and embracing the use of artificial intelligence.
Lee likened his philosophy of governance to agriculture, saying it requires deep ploughing and careful cultivation.
"While consolidating and elevating Hong Kong's traditional strengths, we must embrace reform and innovation," he said.
"We must recognise not only the challenges ahead but, more importantly, the opportunities before us, paving the way for emerging sectors through an "industry-oriented" approach to enhance the well-being of our people."
Lee also said Hong Kong's future will surely yield even more fruitful results through such efforts.
