Flag-raising ceremony held for HKSAR Establishment Day

A flag-raising ceremony was held at Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai on Wednesday to mark the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong SAR.

The national flag and the Hong Kong SAR flag were raised at 8 am.

A firefighting vessel performed a water salute in Victoria Harbour while three Government Flying Service helicopters took part in a fly-past.

Those in attendance included Chief Executive John Lee and his wife, senior government officials, Executive Council members, former chief executive and Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference CY Leung, as well as other former CEs Donald Tsang and Carrie Lam.

Flag-raising ceremonies were also held at the Office of the Commissioner of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong and at Beijing’s liaison office in Hong Kong.
