Senior Beijing official Xia Baolong on Friday held a discussion with SAR lawmakers during their week-long study tour in the capital.

The director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office (HKMAO) was accompanied by HKMAO executive deputy director Xu Qifang and the director of Beijing's liaison office in Hong Kong, Zhou Ji, the HKMAO website said.

HKMAO deputy directors Zhang Dongmei and Nong Rong also attended the event.

Writing on social media later, Legislative Council president Starry Lee thanked Zhou for attending a closing ceremony for the study tour, as well as presenting certificates to fellow lawmakers, as their visit to the capital came to an end.

She said that a series of high-quality lectures and on-site teaching in the past days will allow legislators to carry out their duties more effectively.

Lawmakers will certainly bring back what they have learnt to Hong Kong, and adopt a broader vision and holistic approach in cooperating with the SAR government, Lee added.

The lawmakers will return to Hong Kong on Saturday.
