Man, 62, dies in airport plunge while working on plane

A 62-year-old man has died after falling from height while working at the airport.

Police were alerted to the incident at 8.35am on Monday following an injury report made by the victim's colleague.

The man was pronounced dead after being sent to North Lantau Hospital with head injuries.

Officers said preliminary investigations suggested he fell from a work area about six metres high while doing maintenance work on an aircraft.

The case has been listed as an industrial accident.

The Labour Department said in a statement it has received a report of the incident and is conducting an investigation into its cause.
