People have flocked to designated sports centres across the city, as a number of leisure facilities are open for free as part of the annual Sport For All Day over the weekend.
A man surnamed Ngai brought along his daughter to make the most of the day at the Kowloon Park Sports Centre.
“We came here to experience handball, rowing and football,” he said.
“We also want to try out horse riding and other sports.”
A boy surnamed Kwok said he hopes similar events can be held in the future, given sports can help improve both mental and physical health.
This event allows us to experience various kinds of sports and try them out. We also get to know how fit we are.”
Chief Executive John Lee was among those attending the event.
Writing on social media, he said that the activities for the city-wide sports event were diversified as they included conventional and emerging sports.
And as the Asian Games will be held in September, Lee called on the public to offer their support to the SAR's athletes.
