MTR engineers have completed temporary repairs on the Tuen Ma Line following a signalling equipment fault near Kam Sheung Road Station on Thursday afternoon.

The disruption, which occurred shortly at around 12.40pm, initially forced railway operations to be conducted on a single-track, two-way basis through the affected stretch.

To help manage the situation, the MTR stationed additional staff at the impacted stations and ramped up passenger announcements to keep commuters informed.

At the height of the disruption, travellers between Hung Hom and Tuen Mun were advised to budget an additional 25 to 30 minutes for their journeys.

However, the rail company announced that services had begun gradually returning to normal before 2.30pm.
