Kai Tak Sports Park CEO Andrew Kam says the organisation's top priority is to promote and elevate sports in Hong Kong, while non-sporting events like concerts are lower down the list
Speaking on RTHK's "On Broadcast Drive" programme, Kam said venues at the park would prioritise hosting major sporting events that have substantial public demand.
"This venue is very well suited for football, and football is one of the most popular sports in Hong Kong. So every year, we set aside time for the Fifa windows – and if there are matches, we will make sure those dates are arranged first," he said.
Other booking slots would go to non-sporting events such as concerts, he added.
