A man has been arrested after a knife attack at Baguio Villa in Pok Fu Lam on Monday left a security guard and a foreign domestic helper injured.

Police officers were alerted to the incident at around 9am, when a suspect armed with a blade attacked the two victims at the residential complex.

The security guard sustained wounds to his hand, while the helper suffered injuries to her back and neck.

Both were conscious and taken to Queen Mary Hospital.

The alleged attacker was arrested at the scene and a 28-centimetre-long knife was recovered.

One witness described the scene as chaotic, recounting how he heard a scream and then saw a shirtless man with a knife in hand heading towards the swimming pool as security guards rushed to stop him.

The case has been handed over to the Western district regional crime division for further investigation.
