Shenzhen on Monday marked the 100-day countdown to the 2026 Apec Economic Leaders' Meeting.
In the first half of 2026, the city's trade with other Apec economies rose 33 percent to 1.98 trillion yuan, accounting for 68.8 percent of its total foreign trade, Xinhua News Agency reported.
Authorities have also reported a travel boom.
The number of arrivals and departures involving travellers from Apec economies has surpassed 3.5 million this year, a 24 percent increase from a year ago.
As of August 4, the total number of foreign arrivals and departures via Shenzhen had topped 5 million.
Shenzhen is also touted as one of the country's leading centres for emerging industries.
It's home to tech heavyweights such as Huawei, Tencent, BYD, DJI, and UBTECH, and official data showed that around 70 percent of China's consumer drones and half of its industrial drones are produced in Shenzhen, Xinhua reported.
