A power outage hit areas in Yuen Long on Tuesday, affecting around 2,400 customers, according to CLP.

The company said an underground cable fault occurred at about 4.22am in the district, triggering the blackout.

CLP said power was restored at 10.45am and that it would look into the cause of the disruption. It also apologised for the inconvenience caused.

It said engineers had carried out emergency repairs, including the mobilisation of temporary generators and the laying of temporary cables to restore power as soon as possible.

CLP's community support team was also on site to provide assistance, such as handing out mobile batteries for emergency use at affected care homes.

The company also said it was in close contact with the District Home Affairs Office and local district councillors.
