The Transport Department said on Monday that dedicated lanes for public transport have been set up on Fanling Highway and San Tin Highway to a road connecting to the new Huanggang Port ahead of its opening.

Writing on social media, the department said the lanes will allow franchised buses, cross-boundary coaches and minibuses to head to the redeveloped port directly via San Sham Road without passing through the busier San Tin Interchange.

The lanes will also enhance the capacity of public transport services by speeding up vehicle turnover and passenger dispersal, the department added.
