Technology stocks were back in the crosshairs of investors on Wednesday, taking another heavy blow from a spike in bond yields, rising oil prices, persistent inflation and dimming hopes for a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Here in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index edged up 23 points to close at 25,495.

Shares on the mainland finished lower, with the Shanghai Composite Index down 2.4 percent to 3,894 and the Shenzhen Component Index falling 5.01 percent at 13,890.

Humanoid pioneer Unitree made a successful debut in Shanghai, spiking as much as 629 percent to 1,100 yuan at the open from its IPO price of 150.80 yuan.

It pared some gains to close at 845 yuan, up 460 percent.

Regional stocks mostly fell on concerns about the outlook for semiconductor companies.

The Nikkei in Tokyo closed 3.2 percent lower.

The Kospi in Seoul lost nearly six percent, with SK hynix tumbling 9.8 percent and Samsung giving up nearly eight percent. (Agencies)
