President Xi Jinping will attend an upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Kyrgyzstan.
The Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday that Xi will attend the SCO summit in Bishkek and pay state visits to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt from August 30 to September 3.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said the president will discuss deepening cooperation as well as major international and regional issues with participating countries and leaders at the summit in Bishkek.
Xi will also hold talks with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Japarov and will attend various state events.
Xi will then travel to Egypt where he will meet President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and exchange views on issues of common concern.
This will be Xi's second overseas trip this year following a visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in June. (Agencies)
