Police on Wednesday said they arrested two women, after viral video footage showed a young girl being slapped in the face.

In the video circulating online, a girl can be seen falling to the ground after being struck.

It is understood that two 34-year-old mothers took their children to the APM shopping mall in Kwun Tong at around 4pm, when an argument broke out over the use of play facilities.

During the dispute, a 68-year-old, who is the mother of one of the women, allegedly slapped the five-year-old girl.

The girl's mother is also suspected of assaulting the other 34-year-old woman.

Three people were taken to United Christian Hospital for treatment.

The Kwun Tong District Crime Division is looking into the incident.
