Authorities have seized some 50 suspected unregistered injections from over 13 premises and arrested two people in a recent operation.

They arrested a 28-year-old man and a woman.

The operation was carried out jointly by the Department of Health and police, to crack down on the usage of the Wilms' tumor 1 (WT1) vaccine, which is advertised as being able to prevent multiple cancers.

But Assistant Director of Health Frank Chan on Wednesday said authorities have so far not found any of the vaccines in the operation.

“The over 50 suspected unregistered injections we found are mostly healthcare products like vitamins,” he said.

“As for the WT1 vaccine, we are still carrying out an investigation.

“So far, we have no report of adverse reactions to the vaccine. But we still hope to find the product in the investigation so that we can hold those responsible accountable.”

Chan also said the seized injections belong to Part 1 poisons, adding relevant companies and those in charge are suspected of the illegal sale and possession of unregistered pharmaceutical products.

He said the operation is still ongoing and more arrests could be made.
