The Hang Seng Index gained 0.04 percent, to open at 25,328 on Wednesday.

Stocks on the mainland also opened higher, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.09 percent, reaching 3,943.

The Shenzhen Component Index, meanwhile, opened 0.63 percent higher at 13,788.

It comes after world oil prices climbed on the previous day and stock markets mostly retreated owing to a flare-up in the Middle East War. (Xinhua/AFP)
