Police said a worker died after falling from scaffolding in Sham Shui Po on Friday.

Officers received a report at 11.39am that the worker was believed to have fallen from the structure on the seventh floor of a residential building, and found lying on a platform at 230 Yu Chau Street.

He was unconscious and rushed to Caritas Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead at around noon.

The Labour Department said it deployed staff to the scene after receiving a report of the industrial accident and is investigating the cause.
