Police said a 63-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a road in Pat Heung on Wednesday morning.

Officers received a report at 8.31am that a heavy goods vehicle that was being driven by a 55-year-old man was travelling along Kam Tin Road towards Kam Tin.

The force said that as it approached Ko Po Road, it struck the woman, who was crossing.

She was rushed to Pok Oi Hospital with head injuries and was unconscious. The woman was later transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital, where she was certified dead at 1.39pm.

The Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North, is probing the case.
