Peggy Wong has resigned from her duties as a Tai Po District Councillor, citing health reasons, the government said on Saturday.

Wong also resigned from her duties as member of the Tai Po South Area Committee and captain of the Tai Po Kwong Fuk and Plover Cove sub-district Care Team.

In a statement, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice Mak noted that Wong has served the district for many years, and said she respects her decision.

Wong is also a long-standing member of the DAB.

In a statement, the party said it respects Wong’s decision, thanking her for her dedicated service to the community and wishing her a speedy recovery.
