Police on Monday charged a man who allegedly installed pinhole cameras in the changing rooms of a gym with one count of voyeurism.

The 34-year-old suspect, who was arrested on Sunday, will appear at Sha Tin Magistrates' Courts on Tuesday.

Speaking in a media briefing, Sha Tin District chief inspector Ng Yuk-pui said three pinhole cameras were found inside the changing rooms of a 24/7 Fitness outlet on Lek Yuen Street.

Ng said officers seized three memory cards. "Through digital forensic analysis, relevant video footage was recovered from the memory cards, enabling the rapid identification of the suspect and the subsequent arrest."

Police also said electronic equipment believed to be related to the case was seized from the man's home.

Officers added that no footage has circulated online, and there were no signs that the videos were to be sold.

24/7 Fitness said it has already suspended the membership of the suspect and pledged to step up inspections at all gyms.
