Electoral officials said on Wednesday that 305 nomination forms for candidates and two nomination forms from designated bodies were received on the first day of the nomination period for the 2026 Election Committee (EC) Subsector Ordinary Elections.
The poll, scheduled for November 22, will return a new term of the 1,500-strong EC, which will elect the Chief Executive and 40 members of the Legislative Council.
The EC members will come from five sectors representing various fields in society.
The Registration and Electoral Office said 60 nomination forms came from the labour sector, while another 46 were received from the agriculture and fisheries industry.
The nomination period runs until October 20.
