The city’s bus operators have unveiled fare discounts for services connecting to the revamped Huanggang port.
KMB said passengers transferring to and from its three new Huanggang port services to other rides would only be charged the higher of the two fares across most designated route combinations.
The three routes include two daytime services linking the crossing to Kwai Fong and Tin Shui Wai, and will commence operations on Monday.
In line with the crossing's round-the-clock operations, KMB will also run an overnight service towards Sha Tin town centre, passing through Sheung Shui and Tai Po.
The bus company added that its monthly pass will cover all three Huanggang port routes.
Citybus will launch new daytime services connecting the crossing to Siu Sai Wan, Kai Tak and Castle Peak Bay in Tuen Mun.
Operations director Roger Ma said that on top of transfer discounts, there would also be a special fare offer for passengers transferring to and from the new Hong Kong Island route B13.
“For the first time, we are introducing a flat-rate fare for trips to and from the port," he said.
"The main principle is that starting from anywhere on Hong Kong Island – including Southern, Mid-Levels, Western or other areas – passengers using our existing network and transferring to Route B13 will pay a combined flat fare of HK$27.6.
"HK$27.6 is equivalent to the fare for Route B13 alone.”
Ma added that the company has partnered with Alipay to offer a HK$2 voucher to passengers.
New Lantao Bus will operate a daytime route connecting the port to Wu Kai Sha MTR station.
In addition to franchised buses, six green minibus routes, including three overnight services, and five 24-hour cross-boundary coach routes will serve the crossing.
