Police on Monday said they arrested a 70-year-old man who is suspected to have hired an illegal worker who was found dead at a fish pond.

Officers were alerted by the mainland worker’s wife last night that she had lost contact with her spouse, who was later discovered in Lok Ma Chau.

Preliminary investigations showed that the deceased was suspected to have been an illegal worker.

Officers later arrested the 70-year-old for allegedly hiring a person who is not lawfully employable.
