The Electoral Affairs Commission (EAC) said it received a total of 1,155 nomination forms for the Election Committee Subsector Ordinary Elections, as the nomination period came to a close on Tuesday.

Designated bodies submitted 40 nomination forms, with the rest from individual candidates.

If there is a contested election for a subsector, a poll will be held on November 22.

The Candidate Eligibility Review Committee will publish in the gazette a notice of validly nominated candidates within 14 days after the close of nominations.

Returning Officers will then draw lots on October 29 to determine the order in which candidates' names appear on ballot papers and to allocate designated spots for them to display election advertisements.

A briefing session will be held for candidates at Queen Elizabeth Stadium on November 3, covering guidelines on election-related activities, the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance and postal arrangements.
