The vice president of the Public Doctors' Association says he hopes there can be gradual reforms to prevent middle-aged specialists leaving for the private sector. Dr Herbert Kwok says such doctors may feel frustrated at having to continue working on the frontline and on overnight calls, with little prospect of promotion. Dr Kwok also told Samantha Butler that there may be an increasing trend of doctors leaving, as the private sector started expanding once the Covid pandemic finished:
