Hong Kong's women's epee fencing team finished seventh at the World Championships in Cairo.
The SAR team, led by bronze medallist Vivian Kong, reached the quarterfinals where they were beaten by the world's top-ranked side South Korea, who went on to win the competition.
Kong and her teammates, Kylie Hsieh and Moonie Chu, dropped their next match against the United States before beating Ukraine 44-37 to place seventh overall.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong's Olympic champion Cheung Ka-long slipped to number two in the world rankings after Wednesday's defeat to Tommaso Marini in the men's foil semifinals. The Italian climbed to number one.
The men's foil team competition begins Friday.
