Hong Kong tennis player Coleman Wong has returned to the SAR after winning the boys’ doubles championships at both the US Open and Australian Open, saying he now aspires to represent Hong Kong in the 2024 Olympic Games.

Apart from being a two-time winner of the Junior Grand Slam doubles title, the 18-year-old is also the first Hong Kong tennis player to enter the quarter-finals of the boys' singles at Wimbledon.

Speaking at a media sharing session, Wong said he’s expecting more challenges ahead as he transitions from junior tournaments to the professional circuit.

"Physically, they (opponents) are much stronger, and their attitude is different. The intensity is much higher... I started playing professional tournaments when I was 15 and I'm getting more and more experienced. My goal is to play more adult tournaments in the upcoming year," he said.

The ace player said his achievements in the past year have given him a boost and his next goal is to represent Hong Kong in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

"This is what I dreamed of since I played tennis... I just thought of playing tennis for Hong Kong, and be the first ever Hongkonger to do it."

He also thanked Hong Kong people for their support, especially those who cheered for him in person.
