Hong Kong wushu athlete Samuel Hui on Saturday struck first gold for the SAR at the World University Games in Chengdu.
Hui won the men's Taijijian event with a score of 9.726.
Lau Chi-lung, meanwhile, bagged a silver medal in the men's Nanquan, losing to the mainland’s Cao Maoyuan.
The SAR sent its largest-ever delegation to the games, with over 140 athletes competing in 11 events, including gymnastics, fencing, swimming, and taekwondo.
