Hong Kong fencer Cheung Ka-long won the SAR's third gold medal at the World University Games in Chengdu on Friday.

The Olympic gold medallist beat France's Pierre Loisel 15-12 in the men's foil individual fencing event.

Cheung had earlier defeated fellow local fencer Ryan Choi, who secured a bronze medal for the SAR without a third-place match.

The Hong Kong delegation has, as of Friday night, won three golds, one silver, and five bronze medals at the games.
