Former Manchester United and Uruguay striker Diego Forlán watched from the sidelines as representatives from Manchester United U16s and Hong Kong, China U18s trained together at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Football Academy in Tseung Kwan O on Tuesday.
The high profile visit is part of a week-long exchange from August 6-13 organised by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
Forlán said the exchange presents a great opportunity for both sides and encouraged the academy players to enjoy the experience.
"It's a big opportunity for them, to come so far away for the Man United players and also for the Hong Kong players to play against such a big club. For both sides it is something unique," he said.
The two sides will compete in a friendly game on Wednesday at Mong Kok Stadium, where Forlán played during his half-season stay at Kitchee SC.
"It's a beautiful stadium. A small stadium, very cosy. It'll be a different environment to what they are used to playing in every weekend."
