The Hong Kong Golf Club on Thursday said it will ensure the courses in Fanling are in the best condition possible for upcoming events, even after the government takes back 32 hectares of the site on September 1.
The government will convert the land into public leisure facilities, including a pet park and walking trail.
"We want to make sure that our major tournaments won't be affected by the fact that the first eight holes would be resumed by the government," said club captain Andy Kwok.
Nine hectares of the land to be taken back by the government are earmarked for public housing.
