New Zealand's men's team continue their title defence after reaching the quarter-finals at the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens on Saturday, after going undefeated in the group stages.

The All-Blacks will take on another juggernaut squad Fiji in the semis, who squeaked through after defeating France 14-7, in Pool A.

France still go through to the knockout stage where they will square off against Spain.

Filling out the rest of the knockout bracket, Australia will face South Africa, while USA take on Ireland.

In the women's competition, New Zealand also keep their title defence hopes alive after reaching the semi-final, where they will face old rivals Australia on Sunday.

Meanwhile, France will clash with USA in the other semi-final match-up.

In the Melrose Claymores competitions, the Hong Kong women's squad had the home crowd in a buzz following their victory over Thailand 28-10.

Micayla Baltazar led the way with two tries.

The Hong Kong men's were not so fortunate in their match against Japan – despite a strong start scoring early, the Japanese side pulled away for the 31-14 win.
