Edgar Cheung won gold at the 2024 Shanghai Foil Grand Prix on Sunday, beating Gerek Meinhardt of the United States 15-7 in the final.
The reigning Olympic champion breezed through the competition, sweeping past former world number one Alessio Foconi 15-2 in the quarterfinal.
Cheung' stiffest test came in the semifinal, but overcame Egypt's world number four Mohamed Hamza 15-11.
In the final, Cheung took the initiative, dominating on the way to the second Grand Prix title of his career following victory in Turin, Italy this February.
