Hong Kong basketball player David Muoka has declared he would enter the NBA draft next week, in a bid to become the first athlete from the SAR to make the league.

The centre, 23, stands at six foot 10 inches, and graduated from Hong Kong's West Island School in 2018.

Muoka spent the past season playing for Long Island in the NBA's developmental league, the G League, averaging 4.5 points, five rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in 38 appearances.

He became the first Hongkonger selected by the G League after being picked third overall by the Capital City Go-Go in last year's draft.

The big man spent two years collegiately at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), after previously securing a scholarship at Lamar University.

He was named Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year for the 2020-21 season by averaging 5.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.9 blocks a game as a sophomore at Lamar.
